ADMISSIONS

We welcomed one girl this month, all the way from Limpopo, and is 4 months pregnant. She was successfully registered with Hospital school to continue with her grade 11. Girls are back to school and are eager to do well in their third term. Only one is in grade 12, while one is grade 11 and 2 in grade 8. Below are some of the Fatima House girls on a Friday afternoon, just after school.

BIRTHS AND FAREWELLS

Two lovely babies, a boy and a girl were born during the month. The girl was born on the 12th via a caesarean section, and the boy was born on the 20th of July and it was a natural birth. They are doing well together with their proud and happy mothers. The two are fortunate that they had family (immediate and extended) willing to look after them and their babies. Below is one of the July babies (the girl)!

ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS

The ladies were quite happy with their personalized gifts that they received from The Storehouse on the 18th. This was followed by another visit from a representative of Kruispad cell group who also brought along some donations. A group of 15 ladies from the Lutheran Women’s group in Soshanguve on the 24th. They took their time to be with the ladies encouraging and motivating them not to give up on life. They also brought along some toiletries for them.

We still involve our girls in various self help skills such as card making, knitting, sewing, cross stitching, crotching, basic computer training skills and cooking (which is only implemented on Saturdays). We get them to engage in a variety of activities with a positive hope that when they go back home mastering any one of the skills, they can be able to make a living, become independent and most importantly take care of their babies, (most want to keep their babies). Girls also do swimming during their free time and this is usually during summer.

THANKS

Our thanks go to all who support this kind of service that we render to our pregnant ladies, our Board of management, donors; friends of Fatima House, Good Shepherd people our collaborators and most importantly the girls for choosing life for their babies.
